  • Package #1: Comprehensive Financial Plan

    • We will meet at least three times, and all your questions will be answered.

    • Recommendations will be provided that address retirement planning, tax planning, debt management, housing options, financial risk management, and estate planning.

    • Projections will be provided showing your income and investment value over time. Several financial scenarios will be developed so you can evaluate your options, for example retiring at 60 or 65.

    • An action plan and performance targets will also be identified to help achieve your goals.

    Leave these sessions with a clear understanding of what needs to happen to achieve your financial goals.

    Price: $1,800 + tax; or

    $600 per session + tax (for a minimum of 3 sessions)

  • Package #2: Money Coaching

    • We will meet at least four times, and you will receive a budget and participate in financial coaching sessions.

    • Financial goal setting and prioritization will occur.

    • An action plan and performance targets will also be identified to help achieve your goals.

    • A review of your existing investments and recommendations will be made to help achieve your goals.

    • Efforts will be made to achieve accountability and keep you on track by having regular check-ins to help evaluate progress.

    • Recommendations will be provided that address debt management, retirement planning, housing options, tax planning, financial risk management, and estate planning.

    Leave these sessions feeling empowered, confident, and in control of your finances.

    Price: $1,975 + tax or

    $495 per session + tax (for a minimum of 4 sessions)

  • Package #3: Topic Specific Plan

    • Two meetings.

    • The plan will address one primary objective. For example, retirement income and date or an education funding plan or how much should you be saving or spending.

    • A plan will be prepared addressing one topic and will include an evaluation of several options, projections, actionable strategies, and recommendations.

    Starting at $1,200 + tax

  • Package #4: Second Opinion

    • One meeting.

    • A written review of your portfolio will be produced and it will include an assessment of your risk tolerance, and consideration of your goals, time horizon, and portfolio objectives.

    • Recommendations will be provided.

    Starting at $600 + tax

Been There Financial Planning is different from most financial planners. We provide advice not products, and our advice is unbiased because we are not paid by commission. We work to keep our fees reasonable, frequently encourage clients to utilize low-fee investments, and are always working to provide value to our clients. We provide transparent pricing, do not have any sales targets, and most clients are charged a flat fee, regardless of their income or value of their assets. Finally, clients are provided with an invoice, so they can see exactly what they are paying for. Our hourly rate is $220 + tax, and you may save by bundling hours into a package.

Your initial 30 minute phone/video conference meeting with Been There Financial Planning is free, and confidential. No need to bring anything to this first meeting except for any questions you have. This meeting is to see if we’re a good fit for each other. You may book your initial 30 minute meeting here. We are available to meet on Saturdays and Sundays. There is no pressure at all, and you can start or stop our relationship at any time. However, with the subscription package a minimum two year commitment is required.

Most clients pay the fee (i.e. $1,800 or $1,200) identified in the above list of packages. However, if a client’s circumstances are more complex (i.e. they own several businesses), then a higher fee may apply.

Some clients want extra help in implementing their financial plan, and that is why in addition to these packages Been There Financial Planning provides a value added service to clients requesting support. We work together with a Licensed Portfolio Management team to bring you custom built portfolios that suit your risk tolerance. Clients have the flexibility to choose to work with the portfolio management team that has partnered with us, work with another portfolio manager, or do-it-yourself and independently manage your own investments. Most clients working with our Portfolio Management partner pay 1.10% or less of their portfolio value in management fees. The average Canadian Mutual Fund Investor fee is 2.20% (Source: Investor Economics and Strategic Insight: The Investments Funds Institute of Canada May 2015). Been There Financial Planning accepts cash, an Interac e-transfer, and Visa or Mastercard. Your first payment is due when we meet after the initial free consultation. Instead of choosing a package, you may pay by the hour. Our hourly rate is $220 + tax, and you may save by bundling hours into a package.
